Although we had a warm, even hot, March, the weather has been very cool for most of April and May. Finally, the sunny, warm days have returned, and it’s time to do a little gardening! We will have our little porch garden again this year, AND we get to participate in a little neighborhood garden with our Reba Place friends. We are super-excited about this! A few people from our community (Reba Place Fellowship) did an assessment of our garden-worthy spaces in our urban community. They decided upon this front-yard space as one of our only available locations, as it receives a good deal of sun. Reba is also partnering with a Catholic Worker group who has a farm north of the city. I hope to take the kids out to help at the farm a few times this summer.
For now, we started some seeds at home, we have been watering at the plot on Monday mornings, and we have even harvested some delicious lettuce. Jedidiah ate TWO helpings of salad of his own desire! What a blessing!
Here is some dill we started! Look forward to pictures of us at the garden plot soon.
