Oh my. It’s been quite a winter this year. We’ve had snow on the ground as long as I can remember. We’ve had many below zero days and many more days with highs under 20 degrees.
We get a little snow here and there, and so the mountains of snow just keep growing and growing. Plowing and salting and shoveling have become regular parts of life.
I’d say we’re doing pretty well, all things considered. I think we’ve just adapted to these things being normal. We almost don’t even think about it anymore.
The worst part is how long it takes us to get out the door. With temperatures so low, we really must have all the pieces – long underwear, boots, hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, and sometimes snow pants. I seriously get anxious about having to go places with all three kids. Once we get out, though, it’s all worth it.
Luckily, Simeon is a little easier to bundle with this adorable monkey bunting from Gramma. It’s not waterproof, so it’s a rare day that I let him walk around in it a bit (you can see how excited he is in these pictures). He has boots, but he can’t walk in them – he just stands and cries!
