Fourth of July

We had a nice, quiet fourth of July. There was a cookout with friends in our backyard, then we all walked to the lake to watch fireworks on the beach.

The little kids were much more interested in playing in the sand and water than in watching the fireworks. Still, they had a lovely time.

When we asked Lilia later what she thought about the fireworks, she said, “I wasn’t really that into them.”

Jedidiah, however, said he was considering changing his favorite holiday to the fourth of July.

Here’s Simeon getting one of his first peeks of the fireworks. He was pretty excited at first, but he quickly moved on to compulsively throwing handfuls of sand into the water. Funny little guy. P1010331
